Treatment Approach

Treatment approach used with our clients:

We use different approaches here at MGS Counseling & Therapy Services, LLC. Treatment depends on the current situation and on the specific individual. For some, a combined approach may be suitable and for others a more concentrated approach may work. After your consultation, we’ll be able to identify what will be beneficial for the client. A list of the treatment approaches we use are listed below, with a brief description:

  • Christian Counseling
  • Coaching
  • Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
    • Challenging negative thoughts in order to change unwanted behavior. Beneficial for treating mood disorders.
  • Family Systems Therapy
    • Suggest that individuals can not be understood in isolation from one another and must work as a whole unit.
  • Family/Marital Therapy
  • Narrative Therapy
    • Methods that aims to separate patient from the problem and encourage client to use their own skill sets to minimize daily problems.
  • Play Therapy
    • Used to treat children. Method in which children act out and express their feelings through play.
  • Relational Therapy
    • Effective model for treating emotional, psychological, and relational distress. Develops healthy relationships.
  • Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
    • Approach developed by solution-building rather than problem-solving. Involves current resources and future goals instead of focusing on previous problems.
