We use different approaches here at MGS Counseling & Therapy Services, LLC. Treatment depends on the current situation and on the specific individual. For some, a combined approach may be suitable and for others a more concentrated approach may work. After your consultation, we’ll be able to identify what will be beneficial for the client. A list of the treatment approaches we use are listed below, with a brief description:
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Challenging negative thoughts in order to change unwanted behavior. Beneficial for treating mood disorders.
Family Systems Therapy
Suggest that individuals can not be understood in isolation from one another and must work as a whole unit.
Methods that aims to separate patient from the problem and encourage client to use their own skill sets to minimize daily problems.
Used to treat children. Method in which children act out and express their feelings through play.
Effective model for treating emotional, psychological, and relational distress. Develops healthy relationships.
Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
Approach developed by solution-building rather than problem-solving. Involves current resources and future goals instead of focusing on previous problems.
